Christian Herzog has been appointed Professor of Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects of AI at the University of Lübeck

Christian Herzog, head of the Ethical Innovation Hub, has been appointed Professor of Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects of AI starting from June 1, 2023. Christian Herzog is one of 12 newly appointed professors specializing in artificial intelligence and funded by Schleswig-Holstein.

Christian Herzog will give his inaugural lecture on November 6, 2023, at 5PM (CEST) at the University of Lübeck (AM3).

Postdoc Position at the Ethical Innovation Hub

There is still time to apply for a 100% postdoc position at the Ethical Innovation Hub, lasting for 4 years and a salary according up to TV-L E14. Hurry, as the deadline, October 22, is closing in!

Workshop on Trustworthy AI-Ecosystems

The Ethical Innovation Hub has contributed a workshop on success factors for a trustworthy AI ecosystem in Northern Germany at Schleswig-Holstein’s 4th AI Conference.

The team—Sabrina Blank, Robin Preiß, and Christian Herzog—are still amazed at the multitude of backgrounds of the attendees and the constructive and critical voices raised. The dynamics of the room really captured a group of people trying to co-construct a future, in which AI bears lots of potential, but is governed to be inclusive, value-based, reliable, and trustworthy. Alas, time was short and there was still much to discuss. We’ll let you know when we have evaluated all material.
